     Title: School board presented with Great Expectations program

The DISD Board met Tuesday evening, Sept. 17. Stacy Batenhorst and Jantje Olson gave a presentation on Great Expectations. Stephanie Ellis is also with the other two teachers in this new program but was unable to be present. This new program is for the 4th and 5th graders at the Intermediate School.

The DISD Board met Tuesday evening, Sept. 17. Stacy Batenhorst and Jantje Olson gave a presentation on Great Expectations. Stephanie Ellis is also with the other two teachers in this new program but was unable to be present. This new program is for the 4th and 5th graders at the Intermediate School. Some of the highlights included transforming lives through education is the theme. The mission is to motivate, inspire, and challenge.  ‘To achieve excellence in living.’ Great Expectations (GE) is a criteria of the No Child Left Behind Act.
There are six basic tenets, all children can learn, building self esteem, climate of mutual respect, high expectations, teacher attitude and responsibility and teacher knowledge and skill.
