Dalhart Team Leader, Tom White has made tremendous progress in organizing local volunteers to assist with needs of the residents in the area.  The horrific storm claimed 23 lives and seriously injured 377 people.  The community is still very much in the recovery stage of the process of pulling their lives back to normal.
Most of the homes that were damaged beyond repair have been demolished; probably 15 percent remain to be cleaned up.  Major reconstruction will probably begin by early September of this year in residential areas.
