Title: Golden Wolves fight No. Eight state-ranked team to tie

By THOMAS LOTT

It’s been 10 months since the football season ended for the Dalhart Golden Wolves and they are now just two weeks away from opening night when they head down to Fritch for the first game of the season.
Players graduated, new coaches came in and losses were stewed over as Dalhart waited for their first opportunity to get on the field and take out some of their frustration on their opponents rather than their teammates in practice.

The Golden Wolves got their first opportunity to light up an opponent on Saturday morning when they took on the Preseason 1A Eighth ranked Stratford Elks in their first scrimmage at 11 a.m.
The Elks are coming off of a season in which they made it all the way to the state quarterfinals only to fall to the eventual state champion and star quarterback Hagen Hutchinson. Dalhart fell in the first round of the 3A playoffs to Shallowater.
