The first budget study was held Tuesday, July 9 during the City Council meeting. The council members went over several items of budget requests on capital outlay items. These included the fire department, code enforcement, water and wastewater, parks and cemetery, lake, police department, sanitation, garage, street, airport and the City Council.
The City is considering providing tablets and monitors for the Council members in the Council Chamber and upgrades along with scanners for office staff. The tablets will cut down on paper and postage which the City Manager said would easily add up to what the proposed cost of $22,000. No decision was made as during the first workshop but will be addressed at a later meeting.
