Recent moisture has eased the tension on the upcoming 4th of July celebration and Dalhart Fire Department Chief Curtis Brown gave the “okay” to Kristine Olsen, Dalhart Area Chamber of Commerce President, to strike the match and start the show.
The Chamber of Commerce and the City of Dalhart would like to extend an invitation to everyone to come and celebrate Independence Day.  This year’s Annual July 4th Community Fireworks display is scheduled for Thursday, July 4, at the Rita Blanca Lake after dark.
Please remember that PERSONAL FIREWORKS ARE NOT ALLOWED WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS of Dalhart or at the Rita Blanca Lake Area.  Officers will be patrolling throughout the park to ensure a safe and fun event for the entire community, added Olsen.
