The City of Dalhart had been in search of a ladder truck for their fleet. The addition of a ladder truck would lure new business to Dalhart by increasing code restrictions on the height of new structures.
Dalhart Fire Chief Curtis Brown and City Manager James Stroud flew to Boston, MA on May 16, 2013 to view the truck and make a decision on purchasing the newest member of the Dalhart fleet. The 95 foot ladder truck was purchased for $74,000. The truck was shipped to Dalhart for an additional cost of $12,600. The truck has been striped with the Dalhart Fire Department emblems and will have to be outfitted with ladders, axes, air packs and tools. A donation was made by Hampton Inn Hotels towards the purchase of the ladder truck. A final cost to the City of Dalhart for purchase, shipping, outfitting and training has not been determined.
