     Title: Dalhart on “lock down”

The school in the Dalhart Independent School District (DISD), St. Anthony’s Catholic School, Dalhart Christian Academy (DCA) and Coon Memorial Hospital (CMH) were place on a precautionary “lock down” at approximately 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 20. The situation was resolved at approximately 2:30.

The school in the Dalhart Independent School District (DISD), St. Anthony’s Catholic School, Dalhart Christian Academy (DCA) and Coon Memorial Hospital (CMH) were place on a precautionary “lock down” at approximately 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 20. The situation was resolved at approximately 2:30.
The precautionary measures were exercised to ensure the safety of children and staff at all of the locations. “The staff here (Dalhart Elementary School) is super and the parents have been very cooperative,” stated superintendent, David Foote.  Foote, DISD Police Chief Mark Wittie and Hartley County Chief Deputy Tim Bell were all posted at the elementary school. “Everything happened just as it should have with restricted entry. Everything ran very smooth,” added Wittie.
