The Wolves missed a 42 yard field goal by about one foot when they kicked into a 30 mph wind on the final play of the game as they fell to the Perryton Rangers in their final district game.  They came into the game undefeated in district play and with the loss became co-champions with the Perryton Rangers.
Coach Young stated that, “Perryton had a good game plan and did well in the first half.  We made some adjustments at halftime and played much better, but the game came down to turnovers in the second half.  The turnovers really hurt us, and that was the difference in the game.”  “The kids played hard and I am proud of our kids, they never gave up.  There is no quit in this team.” Young said.  Young picked out several plays that were crucial to the outcome, “When we fumbled at the eight and gave them a short field, it was easy for them to drive eight yards and score.  The wind hurt us, too.  We tried a punt into the strong wind, and that hurt us.  It was our only bad punt of the year because of the wind.”
