Title: 4th annual Dalhart Community Choice Awards

By TAMMI KATE LEDFORD

The Texan’s Community Choice Awards has become an event that promotes spirited community activity. The candidates have been known to purchase the newspaper, clip out the entry form and hand them out in local restaurants, stores and numerous places of business. There’s no rule saying they can’t request your vote, it’s just good politics. This year the Texan begins it’s 4th Annual Community Choice Awards with some additions.

The lines are drawn, and it’s all in for the titles bestowed for the areas favorite burgers, fries and ice cream. The competition gets really grueling when the community selects their favorite attorney, hair stylist, and waitress or waiter. If you think that’s a match, wait until the law enforcement officers, the firefighters and EMT’s go toe-to-toe for the title of favorite. Last year’s winners are defending their titles, the newcomers and second place candidates are bucking for the win.
The Dalhart Community Choice Awards are all in good fun. The candidates enjoy the friendly rivalry the contest inspires and the community members take pleasure in campaigning for their personal favorites. Just to let you know, it’s okay to vote for yourself. You can enter anonymously and vote as many times as you like.
