7th Street Park was “moooving” with activity as various organizations helped young and old understand the importance of dairy products in their daily diet. Three-a-day; that’s the rule!

The 2009 Dalhart Dairy Festival was supported by Hilmar Cheese, North Texas Dairy Women’s Assoc., Circle H Headquarters, Deer Creek Feeding LLC and Dairy Max.

Events included cheese carving, milk chugging, and an adult and children milking competition.

Booths were giving away ice cream, milk, cheese slices and a variety of “take homes” including Frisbees, “cow” bracelets, notepads and pencils.  The children enjoyed playing several games built around a dairy theme.

One citizen made this comment, “I enjoy coming here each year.  It is a great day to spend in the park with my family and enjoy the benefits of small town living.”

Another comment was “Some friends of ours came last year and then told us about it.  We are from Dumas and we came to see what it is all about.  We are having a good time and enjoying the day.”

Thank you sponsors for giving us a day to enjoy and remember.
