Dalhart Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet
By Robin Scott
This year’s Dalhart Area Chamber of Commerce Banquet is scheduled for Tuesday, April 8th at the Rita Blanca Coliseum, beginning with a wine and cheese reception at 5:30 p.m. and followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. Several new items on the agenda are sure to excite and enthuse area businesses.
“Mr. Positive,” Jim Gentil, is the guest speaker this year. He is an author, magician and motivational speaker who knows how to “Make Every Hour In Your Life Happy Hour.” He’ll transform the way people think, and his speaking is the inspiration for the theme for the banquet this year, “Happy Hour the Way it was Meant to be – all of the fun and all of the laughter with none of the headaches or hangovers.”
New to the banquet is a raffle, which Kristine Olsen, President of the Dalhart Area Chamber of Commerce, describes as, “The best Dalhart has to offer.” Area businesses have graciously donated items for gift baskets. Guests will have an opportunity to purchase raffle tickets and place their tickets in a canister for the items they wish to win! One lucky winner’s ticket will be drawn from each canister.
Each year the area’s Citizen of the Year is announced during the banquet. Two new categories will also receive recognition: Volunteer of the Year and Agricultural Family/Person of the Year. Entertainment will be provided by Audry Hurley.
Tickets are on sale now at the Dalhart Area Chamber of Commerce Office or through a board member. Businesses are encouraged to sponsor a table at the banquet. Don’t miss out on all of the fun and celebration as the Dalhart area honors the best of the best while enjoying good food, fun fellowship and great entertainment.
