Second Annual March Madness strikes Dalhart

Posted by: tdt -

The National Collegiate Athlete Association (NCAA) Basketball Championship occurs during March and early April of each year and offers an opportunity for fun and a chance to win a prize.  The 64 teams competing in the championship provide the excitement for March Madness and area merchants and individuals add to it by cheering on a particular team.
The teams that make it into the championship will be selected by the NCAA on Sunday, March 14th.  After that, the Dalhart Texan will put each team’s name into a hat for a random drawing by merchants and individuals that participate.  The opening round game is scheduled for March 16th at the University of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio.  After each round, participating merchants and individuals whose teams were eliminated will also be eliminated from the Dalhart Texan’s March Madness.
As the field of teams and participants shrinks, the ads will grow in size.  Each Wednesday the Dalhart Texan will print a competition matrix for readers to follow the tournament and keep up with his or her favorite team.
The National semifinals are scheduled for April 3rd at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana and the championship game follows on April 5th at the same stadium.  The Dalhart Texan will announce the winner in the Wednesday, April 7th edition of the newspaper.  The prize for the winner is a free half-page of advertising with the Dalhart Texan.
Join in the fun and excitement of this year’s March Madness.  For more information about the Dalhart Texan’s March Madness, contact the newspaper at 806/244-4511.  All participants must sign up before Wednesday, March 10th.
