For the past two weeks I have been having cell phone problems. I have compiled two pages of phone numbers, case numbers and notes while the carrier has been trying to figure out the problem.
It didn’t seem to matter what they tried, it still gave the same message; "No Service Available." I began gleaning little pieces of information as I talked with various "tech" people who seemed to be as puzzled as I. At the time of my distress, my husband was in South Carolina and his cell was working just fine. When he called mine however, it went straight to voice mail.
One knowledgeable person suggested we put his SIM card in my phone and see if it works. (I would have been glad to do it if he was in the same state at the time!) My frustration level was rising.
Chalmer returned home and we did indeed try the SIM card switch! My phone worked. A new SIM card arrived yesterday by UPS carrier. This tiny "chip" was indeed the culprit. After placing the card in my phone, the carrier activated it from miles away and my service was restored. This morning I got up feeling "moody." I couldn’t understand why the recovery process with my right arm was taking so long. Suddenly, verses from Psalm 139 began playing in my head; …if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast…I am fearfully and wonderfully made…search me. O God and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts…lead me in the way everlasting."
Sometimes I think I deserve a "No Service Available" message from God. But even when the failure is my lack of trust, He is ever present. He never, never fails! He gives me a verse that "fits" the problem. He was swift to let me know that my right arm isn’t working 100 percent, but He will hold me fast with His. He lifted me up from my "crummy" mood and set my feet to dancing!
