"I'm a Dalhart Texan Facebook fan!"
By Robin Scott
As a relatively new resident to Dalhart, Sarah enjoys the Dalhart Texan. She and husband, Bill, moved to Dalhart in 2008. They both enjoy how friendly everyone has been and state that it was very welcoming. The Dalhart Texan has been Sarah’s source for local events and activities.
The Kolath’s are originally from Michigan. Bill accepted a position with Cargill Cattle Feeders as a Research Scientist. They have been married since 2001.
Sarah has a Bachelor’s of Science in Animal Science from Michigan State University and a Master’s Degree in Animal Science from the University of Missouri, Columbia. She noted, however, “Being a mother is my vocation and joy, and we are blessed that I am able to stay home with my children’” The Kolath household is quite busy with William, age 6, Andrew, age 4, Elizabeth, age 2 and tiny tot, Rebekah, just seven months old. Both of the younger girls were born in Dalhart.
The Kolath’s stay very busy with St. Anthony of Padua. Sarah commented, “I help facilitate some of the adult education classes and Bill is a member of the Knights of Columbus.” The couple are both a certified teaching couple for Natural Family Planning with the Couple to Couple League and offer NFP classes at St Anthony’s. Bill is also on the Cargill Cares Committee. Sarah stated, “Bill enjoys being able to help our community through Cargill.”
Along with their passion for people and community, the Kolath’s also enjoy many hobbies. Sarah stated, “We make and bottle wine together. We also have a freshwater aquarium, four gerbils and a black Labrador retriever.” She also noted, “My husband enjoys photography and our children are his favorite subjects.” Sarah is also a scrap booker, which certainly makes sense with a houseful of little ones who make cherishable memories daily. And when time permits, crocheting is another loved hobby for Sarah.
The couple both also enjoy reading, including reading on Facebook. Sarah has become a fan of the Dalhart Texan Facebook page and enjoys finding out what is going on in Dalhart by logging onto her Facebook page and reading updates from the Dalhart Texan.
