Task force makes proposals to combat trafficking

January is National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month, and Governor Greg Abbott issued a proclamation declaring recognition of the month in Texas and urging residents to recognize the signs of human  trafficking. In preparation for the 87th Legislative Session, the Texas Human Trafficking Prevention Task Force  has released their 2020 report with legislative recommendations to help combat human trafficking across the  state.

“The State of Texas will not tolerate the inhumane practices of coercive and manipulative criminals. We enact  serious penalties for human traffickers, and we continuously strive to better serve the victims of these heinous  crimes..."
