A total of $744.2 million in local sales tax allocations will be received by local cities, counties and other taxing districts from the state comptroller’s office this month. That’s 2.9 percent less than the allocations received in July 2019.

Sales tax allocations received in July are based on sales made in May by businesses that report tax monthly.  Because social distancing guidelines had been relaxed in May, the year-over-year declines were not as steep as they were last month.
