Recent rain brings needed relief to Dallam, Hartley County corn fields

Most wheat in the Dallam and Hartley County area has already been harvested for silage, with only a small portion held for grain harvest. Dry conditions in the late spring and early summer have had an affect on all crops planted in the area, but recent rains have been beneficial. 

“I would say, from what I’m seeing, the majority of (wheat) is out. About 80 percent has already been harvested. There’s not much left out there to be harvested,” Dallam- Hartley County AgriLife Extension Agent Mike Bragg said.
