Unruh named EMS Responder of the Year for Panhandle

Cody Unruh has been named the EMS Responder of the Year by the Panhandle Firefighter and Fire Marshal’s Association. The announcement was made during a Zoom meeting of the membership on Saturday. 

Unruh become an EMT with the department eight years ago and has been a paramedic for seven years with the Hartley Fire Department and EMS. Unruh made the decision to become an EMT to serve the community. 

“My biggest thing was I wanted to give back to the community, basically, and I wanted to be able to help people at a time when they are in need,” Unruh said.
