Council moves forward with waste transfer station

An ordinance authorizing the issuance of obligation bonds for a waste transfer station was approved by the Dalhart City Council at their Tuesday evening meeting. 

The council held a first reading of the ordinance last month. A second reading was held at Tuesday night’s meeting. The council first took action on the waste transfer station in February. At that time, City Manager James Stroud explained the initial cost is approximately $2.5 million plus the cost of operating the truck to transport the solid waste.
