Sales tax numbers released for September

Nearly $802 million in monthly sales tax revenue has been distributed to local municipalities across the state of Texas by the office of Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar. That’s an 8.5 percent increase over distributions in September 2018. 

Of the distributed funds, $520.1 millions was allocated to cities, $169.3 million was allocated to transit systems, $50.9 million was allocated to counties, and $61.2 million allocated to special purpose taxing districts.

The City of Channing received $842.16, up 10.47 percent over the $762.33 distributed in September 2019. Year-to-date payments are at $7,033.91, which is down from 48,874.44 distributed in the same time period last year.
