Counties approve budgets, tax rates

Budgets and tax rates for the 2020 fiscal year were set for Hartley and Dallam County by each commissioners’ court in their Monday morning meetings. 

The budgets and tax rates were approved as proposed. Dallam County will have a tax rate of .355,
and Hartley County will have a tax rate of .408. The two commissioners’ courts also set a tax rate for Frank Phillips College for 2020 in their joint meeting. The rate was set at the proposed amount of .036375.

The Hartley County Commissioners approved budget amendments for the current fiscal year to cover jail expenses as well as the roof replacement at the county courthouse.
