Hospital board reviews finances

Financial statements were reviewed at Thursday’s hospital board meeting.

The financial statement review was presented by Joe Bradick, chief financial officer. He reported the May gross patient revenue of $3,108,704 is lower than the prior May by $416,001. Bad debts deductions were lower than the prior year. Deductions from revenue year to date are 47 percent of gross revenue compared to prior year of 45 percent.

Expenses in May 2019 are lower than the prior May by $124,562. Medical supplies are higher, as they also were in the pharmacy, which was related to higher volume. Expenses were also higher in the lab for chemistry supplies, with surgery related to orthopedic procedures and clinics. The operating loss for May was $815,214, compared to May 2018 of a $647,476 loss.
