2009 National 4H Week
On September 30, 2009, Hartley County Council members watched as the Hartley Country’s Honorable Judge Ronnie Gordon signed a proclamation recognizing National 4-H week. National 4-H week was observed October 4-11.
Each year the Hartley county clubs put together various community service activities to give back to the communities that support this Texas Agri Life Extension Program. Projects range from handing out cookie bags to the teachers and county officials to donating time and effort to help elderly people in the communities of Hartley and Channing.
This year, the 4-H program started what they hope will become a tradition. Each county around the state of Texas took one day on October 10 and set it aside for community service activities, giving the program the name of 4-H One Day. More than 300 different community service projects were reported to AgriLife Extension across the state.
4-H is continually looking for ways to give back to the communities that support them, and each year they go above and beyond.
On behalf of the Hartley County 4-H, we thank you who support us.
