The Dalhart Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new career training center at Frank Phillips College Friday.

The day also included tours of the facility. Eleven students make up the inaugural class of the college’s welding program, which is housed in the new career training center, located behind the Gene and Louise Rahll Education Center that opened in June 2018. Dean Ilene Walton said the goal is to continue to add additional technical programs in the future, with hope for diesel and automotive mechanics.
