The Dalhart City Council decided Tuesday evening on an offer to Hilmar Cheese Company to allow the company to pump waste into the city sewer system, at a rate of approximately 5,000 gallons per day. The current rate for waste is $1.50 per 1,000 gallons. The council approved a rate of $4.50 per 1,000 gallons for Hilmar to pump waste into the system.

This is bathroom waste and is not an issue, said City Manager James Stroud. Other waste is not allowed.
