Caution urged for holiday weekend travel

Travel over the Thanksgiving holiday is expected to be the highest since 2005, according to estimates released this week by AAA. Approximately 54.3 million people are expected to travel at least 50 miles over the holiday weekend, mostly by road.

Dalhart Police Chief David Conner re-iterated the need to be safe while on the road, and to avoid driving after drinking, he also advised drivers to use extra caution while traveling out of state. “Be watchful for other drivers, and if roads are slick, slow down,” he said.
