Winter storm blows through panhandle

A winter storm blew through the Texas Panhandle Sunday night into Monday morning, dropping as much as 9.5 inches of snow in some locations. The National Weather Service in Amarillo issued a winter storm warning Sunday afternoon in advance of the storm. The warning included most of the northwest and northern Texas Panhandle counties, including Dallam and Hartley Counties and was issued from 6 p.m. Sunday to noon Monday.

The Hartley County Sheriff’s Department issued a warning for motorists on Facebook Sunday evening, advising drivers to travel with caution or to simply stay home.
