In Dalhart, a nearby location is once again being transformed into a drop-off center for Operation Christmas Child—the world’s largest Christmas project of its kind. At the local collection site in Dalhart, volunteers will soon be on hand to receive over 1,500 gift-filled shoeboxes, packed by caring Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma panhandle residents with toys, school supplies, hygiene items and notes of encouragement.

Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international Christian relief and evangelism organization headed by Franklin Graham. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Operation Christmas Child project. Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child has delivered gift-filled shoeboxes to more than 157 million children in more than 160 countries and territories. 11 million shoeboxes were collected by Samaritan’s Purse last year.
