Dalhart Veterans Day celebration this Friday

Posted by: tdt -

The 2018 Veterans Day Parade and Program, sponsored by the XIT Rangers and XIT Communications, will take place on Friday, November 9 this year since November 11 is on a Sunday. The parade will commence at the Dalhart City Hall at 10 am and the program will begin at 11 am at Central United Methodist Church.

This year’s program will honor the soldiers of the Desert Storm era--those who served from 1976 to 1990. The Master of Ceremonies for the program will be Robert Ledbetter, who participated in Operation Desert Storm.

The veterans who served in Desert Storm will be the Grand Marshals of the 2018 parade. Limousine convertibles and classic cars will be available for all veterans from World War II to present day, including active military members who are home on leave. These limousine convertibles will be furnished by XIT Communications, Paul Gore, and Darrell & Sherlon Ferguson. The classic cars will be provided by the local car clubs. Veterans may also ride on a trailer furnished by the XIT Rangers.
