The city’s annual “Truck Rodeo” was all in good fun on Friday at Rita Blanca Coliseum, but there was a serious aspect to the event, as well.

Employees of the city were able to practice their driving skills through five stations, to better learn how to be safe on the streets while going about their daily job.

Dennis Rojas, Public Works Director, started off the day with a briefing on the stations and the points the employees could earn. He also explained ways points could be lost, such as leaning out the window, turning the truck’s wheels while not in motion, not setting the emergency brake or honking the horn at designated times.
