Wildfires: What to do when they happen

Posted by: tdt -

There have been multiple wildfires in this area over the past week. One near the Hartley/Oldham/Moore county lines last week burned over 15,000 acres, and there was another one near Channing at the beginning of this week that was caused by downed power lines. A fire in Amarillo burned over 400 acres and was dangerously close to the hospital area of the city, near Coulter and 9th Street.

The danger of wildfires in this area will continue with the dry conditions that are currently prevalent and with the high winds that are common to the Panhandle. So everyone needs to know what to do when a wildfire approaches their home, workplace, or just somewhere they are visiting.
