Dalhart High grad David Vinson leads Wylie school district to honor

A Dalhart High graduate recently had the school district that he supervises receive a national honor. Dr. David Vinson, PhD. is the superintendent of the Wylie Independent School District near Dallas, and Wylie ISD was named a 2018 “District of Character by Character.org.

Vinson is a former Dalhart resident who graduated from Dalhart High in 1986. He then attended Texas Tech in Lubbock and received his BBA in 1990, Masters in Education Leadership in 1996 and his PhD. in 2013. He and his wife Cristy have two children, a son named Cal who is 16 and a daughter named Kate who is 14. His parents Lowell and Jackie Vinson still live in Dalhart.
