A lot of planning, a great line up of food vendors, entertaining game booths, and a list of interesting vendors promises for a good time at this year’s block party.  The city and Chamber of Commerce have put a lot of effort into making Saturday’s 9th Annual Keep the Shine on Denrock Downtown Block Party bigger and better than ever!

Activities will include a Water Polo Challenge at 5:00 p.m., free bouncers for the kids starting at 6:00 p.m., Army Climbing Rock Wall, Dalhart Cruzers Car Show, and many food and game booths.  Entertainment will also be provided with band Bipolar Echo performing at 7:00 p.m. and a free mechanical bull to ride starting at the same time.  During band breaks there will also be a frozen t-shirt contest with the winner taking home $100 Dalhart Dollars.

You should prepare your taste buds, as there will be a wide myriad of food to choose from.  From curly fries to Jambalaya there is a food to fit everyone’s taste.  A vast array of game offerings also ensure a good time.  Hole-in-one golf, face painting, pony rides, dance revolution, and a dunking booth are just a few.  Vendor booths also guarantee you to find at least one treasure; vendors offering Santa Fe style chairs, molded ear plugs, and even massage chairs.

So get those taste buds ready, put on your best pony riding attire, and get that t-shirt in the freezer because we look forward to seeing you at the Keep the Shine on Denrock Block Party!
