Both the Dallam and Hartley County Commissioners Courts met Monday morning, August 28 in separate meetings, and then also met in a joint meeting.

The meetings were held to review and discuss the budgets and tax rates. The Dallam County Commissioners Court met at the Dallam County Courthouse at 10 am. Judge Wes Ritchey said that Dallam County’s only budget change is to buy a used 1983 front-end loader. The proposed tax rate is 35.5 cents per $100 valuation, which is down from the previous rate of 36 cents. The records management and preservation budget hearing was also held. It is mainly a formality each year on different fees handled by Terri Banks, County and District Clerk.
