Sen. Seliger prepares for special session

Posted by: tdt -

Governor Greg Abbott called the Texas Legislature into a special session that began on Tuesday July 18. The session was called because the legislature failed to extend the expiration dates for several agencies during the regular session. These include the Texas Medical Board, the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists, the Texas State Board of Examiners of Marriage and Family Therapists, the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors, and the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners. All these boards will be unable to continue their activities into September without being reauthorized.

State Senator Kel Seliger of District 31, which includes Dalhart, took a few minutes out of his schedule last week for a phone interview with The Dalhart Texan to talk about the regular session that was held earlier this year and the special session.
