Wheat production forecasts down for 2017

THE DALHART TEXAN

The USDA released the winter wheat production report for the northern high plains last week, with forecasted production down 37 percent from last year at 30.6 million bushels. Last year, the region yielded approximately 48.2 million acres.

In total, Texas wheat production is forecasted at 69 million bushels for this year, down from 89.6 million bushels in 2016.
