Neighbors helping neighbors since 1934
By Nathan French
In recent trying economic times the banking industry has taken many pitfalls. From countless mergers to bank names changing as often as there are days in the week, it seems as hometown banking has become something of a bygone era. However, Dalhart Federal Savings & Loan harkens to that hometown banking past while offering the latest in banking services.
Dalhart Federal is celebrating its 75th anniversary; a three-quarter century legacy of “neighbors helping neighbors.” Chartered on September 18, 1934, Dalhart Federal Savings and Loan Association began operations in a shared office with two desks and two employees. From those humble beginnings, Dalhart Federal grew by a different vision than that of many banks. Dalhart Federal wanted to be “neighbors helping neighbors,” rather than a looming figure that might give you money, but might also chase you out the door laughing all the way.
Neighbors helping neighbors has proven a great success in terms of Dalhart Federal and in its longevity in our local community. Offering a multitude of services to local residents while supporting the communities in the local trade territories, providing full financial services for our local vicinity has ensured success. Dalhart Federal, in its 75-year long trail has become a recognized leader in our area; all the while keeping to its roots.
Dalhart Federal will be celebrating their 75 years as part of our community on September 18 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the banking center located at 502 Denrock in Dalhart or 202 East 7th in Dumas. Dalhart Federal invites you to come celebrate neighbors helping neighbors since 1934 and hopes to see you there!
