Panhandle gets first taste of spring storms with hail, high winds

THE DALHART TEXAN

The Texas panhandle had its first taste of spring storms Thursday night. A line of thunderstorms produced heavy rain, hail and reports of wind up to 65 miles per hour, according to information released by the U.S. National Weather Service in Amarillo.

Hail up to a quarter of an inch in diameter was reported approximately two miles south of Dalhart in Hartley County.
