Bell Retires As County Chief Deputy

Tim Bell was honored with a retirement reception Friday, July 22, 2016 for his years of service in law enforcement, including his most recent role for 13 years as the Hartley County Chief Deputy. Bell began his law enforcement career in Dalhart in 1979 at the Dalhart Police Department. Three years later, he became a criminal investigator for the 69th District Court.

In 2001, Bell began working for Hartley County and was promoted to Chief Deputy in 2003. When asked about any memorable events or cases Bell has worked over the years, one case came readily to his mind. “During my time as criminal investigator, I worked one particular homicide case in Sherman County that turned out to be more involved than we thought.
