New Terms Begin For City Council

THE DALHART TEXAN

Danny Smallwood, Zelda Lang and Lola Barrow were appointed to canvass the returns and declare the results of the election held Saturday, May 7. The results were accurate.

The oath of office was given to Tim Yee, new councilman for Ward 4, and Robin Scott, new councilwoman for Ward 3, and incumbents Kerry Miller and Clinton Hale, who are beginning their new terms.

Hale was re-elected as Mayor Pro-Tem.

Bryan Brewer was appointed to Ward 3 to replace Joe Garcia, who moved from Ward 3 to another ward.

Prior to the meeting, Mayor Phillip Hass presented a large wood and metal engraved clock to Zelda Lang and Chris Bell, who both declined to run again this year. Hass expressed his and the Council’s appreciation for their service on the council.
