THE DALHART TEXAN

Wednesday was a full day for the Dalhart VolunteerFirefighters, as a total of five fires were reported throughoutthe day, burning a total of approximately 4,100 acres.

Dallam and Hartley dispatch confirmed a total of fivecalls came across their radios, though one turned out to beunfounded.

The largest of the fires was west of Hartley on FM 998.The U.S. Forestry Service estimated a total of 4,000 acresburned before it was completely extinguished.
