TPP deal expected to benefit beef industry

The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement was signed February4 in Auckland after more than five years of negotiations. The twelvenations now have two years to either ratify or reject the partnership.

The TPP includes the U.S., Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore,Brunei, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Mexico, Chile and Peru. Thisgroup is responsible for approximately 40 percent of all world trade.

With a goal of deepening economic ties between the nations involved,proponents of the deal say it will favor economic growth for all parties.
