Get your clown on
By Nathan French
Brightly colored overdone make-up, big shoes, balloons, laughing, and lots of people; either the makings of a Tammy Faye Messner party, or in this case a clown contest that is both great fun for kids and adults alike. Bank of America hosted its annual clown contest coinciding with XIT on Thursday August 6th. Turnout for the event was fantastic with children bedecked in their varied costumes of clowns ranging from rodeo clown to “super clown” attire.
Bank of America brightened the festivities with cheerful decorations, popcorn, and lemonade served in the lobby area. Every contestant received a gift bag and a ticket to Friday evening’s rodeo where the clown contest winners were announced. Judges this year for the contest included the XIT Rodeo clown himself, Cynthia Maxwell, and Cyndi Jones from the Amarillo branch of Bank of America.
CASA was present at the festivities selling raffle tickets for the playhouse giveaway, and
Region 16 for Early Childhood Development was at hand, providing face painting tattoos for all of the children. A great time was had by all attendees and the winners of the contest are pictured.
