Beth Bezner Moore wins Hartley JP Election

Hartley County will have a new Justice of the Peace. Incumbent, Edwyna Womble, fell to challenger Beth Bezner Moore in the runoff election held Tuesday May 27. Womble held the position for 12 years.
Moore garnered 400 votes with incumbent Edwyna Womble securing 214 votes. Moore’s margin of victory was, unofficially, 188 votes – she won with 65 percent of the votes cast in Tuesday’s election.
Moore has been a Dalhart resident since 1969, moving here with her parents A.J. (Doc) and (Boots) Bezner. She was a 1973 DHS graduate of Dalhart High School and has been active in many organizations in Dalhart and in her church work. She opened her own beauty salon in 1985, Beth’s Place.
