Dyllon Orthman honored as Volunteer of the Year
By ZELDA BETH LANG
Dyllon Orthman is an amazing 11 year old young man that has taught this small town of Dalhart to look beyond ourselves. He is the recipient of the Dalhart Area Chamber of Commerce Dorothy Lindmark Volunteer of the Year Award. This is the first year the award is named after, the late Dorothy Lindmark, one of Dalhart’s most visible and giving volunteers of all time.
After the destruction of the May 2013 tornado in Moore, Okla., Dyllon took it upon himself to raise money to help a family that was devastated by the tornado. His award was presented by Mark McCormick, principal of the Intermediate School.
