Dalhart residents are invited to watch the broadcast of Channel 10’s evening newscasts for 6:00 and 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 23rd.  The visit to Dalhart is part of a four-part newscast trip through the Texas panhandle, and the evening in Dalhart is the last night of the panhandle tour.

The station is compiling several news stories that will air live on the 23rd.  Each story relates to Dalhart, and local residents have been interviewed for the stories.  The local spin on the news for that evening include the city’s improvements to parks, the local real estate market, a spot on the La Rita Theatre and a spot about the XIT Museum.

Amarillo Channel 10 news anchors Walt Howard and Amanda Goodman, sport newsman Jake Riddell and weather reporter “Doppler” Dave Oliver will arrive in Dalhart for the live broadcast.  Also in Dalhart will be weekend producer and anchor and daily reporter Megan Moore.  Ms. Moore was also in Dalhart on July 14th to discuss the upcoming newscast and meet with Mayor Kevin Caddell and City Manager Greg Duggan.  Ms. Moore also had an opportunity to meet Kristine Olsen with the Chamber of Commerce, Marilyn Like with La Rita Theatre, Nick Olson, XIT Museum Curator, and Cyndi Ward with Top of Texas Realty.

In an interview with Ms. Moore on Tuesday, she stated that the trip is a very exciting event for the television station.  She noted, “It gives us all a chance to meet people that are outside of Amarillo.”  She also commented that she had never been to Dalhart before and enjoyed seeing the town.  Ms. Moore is a 2007 graduate of Texas State University in San Marcos.  She noted that she has felt very fortunate and blessed to have been hired by Channel 10 News in Amarillo.

The newscast will broadcast from the steps of the Dallam County Courthouse on Thursday evening.  In between the 6:00 and 10:00 p.m. live broadcasts, the Amarillo television personalities will spend time with area officials and Dalhart residents enjoying some of the local flavor of Dalhart.  Anyone wishing to view the live broadcast is encouraged to be at or near the courthouse that afternoon or evening.

Other cities on the panhandle tour include Pampa and Canyon.  For more information about Channel 10 News in Amarillo, visit
