Oktoberfest raises funds German style

There may not have been any lederhosen dawned or dirndls gracing the 32nd Oktoberfest in Dalhart, but there was plenty of bratwurst and sauerkraut. The event raises funds each year for St. Anthony’s Catholic School and over 3,000 tickets are sold in the community to get a taste of the Knights of Columbus’ German cuisine.
This year there was no shortage of brats, with 4,500 pounds of the delectable preferred pork grilled to perfection. Tubs of sauerkraut were also eaten as the Rita Blanca Coliseum was taken over for the day to celebrate the official rites of fall in the area.
