Area artists definitely have talent. Artistic ability is evident when you step into the XIT Museum this month for the Dalhart Area Fine Art Association annual showing.
Eighteen paintings, from acrylic and oils to charcoal and water color mediums are being displayed at the museum for the month of September as a way to highlight local artists and their work.
“We have amazing artists here, most of them are too shy to say they are artists,” Dalhart Area Fine Art Association President Mary Cundiff said. “This area as some extremely talented artists and we support events to highlight their work.”
The museum was open from 6 to 8 p.m. to kickoff the month-long showing, Tuesday evening, with an artists reception. People were also able to vote on their favorite painting.
