Bishop blesses Saint Anthony’s Activity Center
By JOE WARREN
Bishop Patrick Zurek, of the Roman Catholic Dioceses of Amarillo, was in Dalhart visiting Saint Anthony’s Church building dedication to bless the parishioners and the newly acquired facility.
“It’s nice to see all the children here,” Bishop ‘Zurek said. “One of the most significant uses of this building is for you and your continued education in your faith.”
Saint Anthony’s Parrish purchased the 6,400 sq. ft. building from the First Presbyterian Church community in April of this year and plans on using the facility for CCD classes as well as housing the Knights of Columbus meeting space and other church activities and events.
“I think we need to acknowledge the Presbyterian community who was here for 114 years,” Bishop Zurek said. “You all should be commended for looking to the needs of the future of your church. So to pass from one christian community to another makes this even more special.”
