The Junior Rodeo kicked off on Saturday afternoon at 10 a.m. at the XIT arena and the riders were out in force to show their talents.
The day started with bull riding and the stock looked very good this year as the riders did their best to hold on.
The day went on with calf and steer riding and was followed with Muttin’ Bustin’, runaway calf roping, steer dodging, barrels, poles and flags.
Here are the results for the Class II Boys. Dalton Beach took home first place in the poles with a time of 25.765, and second place in barrels with a time of 20.880. He was also the overall winner of the Class II Boys. Cooper Wood took home first place in barrels with a time of 20.280 seconds, and third in poles with a time of 33.416. Bronk Embry took home first place in the flags with a time of 10.685 seconds. Gage Hoganson was first in calf riding.
For the Class II girls, Shay Clements took home the overall title by sweeping all three events. She finished in 21.124 seconds in the barrels, 29.627 in the poles and 11.757 in the flags. Emory Hom finished in second place in the barrels and the flags and in third in the poles. Jalee Lane finished in second in the poles and third in the flags.
